Vocal Master Class with Julia Bentley and Tatiana Lokhina
This Vocal Master Class with Julia Bentley (Mezzo Soprano, New Budapest Orpheum Society) and Tatiana Lokhina (pianist, Oberlin Observatory) is free and open to the public at Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio, Lenox, Massachusetts on Friday, July 24 at 2:30pm. A student vocal quartet will be coached. The class is followed by the music of the Dakiti String Quartet drifting across the beautiful summer grounds. Some of the selections will resonate with the Cubist art and Modernist architecture on display in the Museum.
Frelinghuysen is the former home of dramatic soprano Suzy Morris who joined the New York City Opera in 1947, singing lead roles — Tosca, Ariadne auf Naxos, Amneris in Aïda. Eight decades later, the next generation of operatic voices will study where her voice once rang. No other venue in the Berkshires can offer that!
Throughout the festival, participants present outreach concerts and master classes across the Berkshires, Hudson Valley, and Catskills, including a performance and master class partnership at Catwalk and Beattie Powers Place in Catskill, NY.
