Performance and Opera Talk: “The Acting Singer” with Jay Lesenger
This talk brings the transformative art of the singing actor to the Hudson River’s most storied creative retreat, the Catwalk Institute; an ideal setting for an afternoon of song and string quartets on Tuesday, July 28 at 3:00pm.
“The Acting Singer” is the acclaimed acting masterclass led by veteran opera director Jay Lesenger. It teaches vocalists to inhabit a role completely — to move beyond beautiful sound into honest, dramatically compelling performance.
This program also features Mezzo-soprano Julia Bentley and pianist Tatiana Lokhina.
Throughout the festival, participants present outreach concerts and master classes across the Berkshires, Hudson Valley, and Catskills, including a performance and master class partnership at Catwalk and Beattie Powers Place in Catskill, NY.
