No registration necessary. \nJay Lesenger\nDuring Jay Lesenger’s more than 45-year career as stage director\, administrator andteacher\, he has become known for intelligent\, honest productions which aredramatically compelling and musically knowledgeable. Mr. Lesenger has produced and directed more than two hundred opera productions for the New York City Opera\,Chautauqua Opera Company\, Atlanta\, Hawaii\, Milwaukee\, New Orleans (the world premiere of Thea Musgrave’s “Pontalba”)\, Opera Carolina\, Opera Grand Rapids\, OperaPacific\, Palm Beach\, Pittsburgh\, San Diego\,Virginia and many others. His Europeandebut was with Opera Nordfjord\, Norway\, and he has directed for Volkstheater Rostockin Germany. \nA frequent adjudicator for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions\, Opera Index and other vocal competitions\, heholds a Masters degree from Indiana University and aBachelors of Music & Theater fromHofstra University.His Acting master classes for singers are transformative. A winner of prestigious competitions on three continents\, she has enjoyed an exceptional solo\, collaborative and recording career worldwide\, and is one of the most sought-after teachers of her generation. Bieler has performed the canon of major violin concertos with over forty orchestras on four continents\, including the premiere of Penderecki’s second violin concerto under the direction of the composer.  Her groundbreaking achievement as the first American woman appointed concertmaster of a major European orchestra\, the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne\, led to a major ensemble career in Germany’s legendary Melos String Quartet and the acclaimed Xyrion Piano Trio. See full bio here. \nBerkshire High Peaks Festival\nThe Berkshire High Peaks Festival is a performing and teaching summer institute bringing together renowned musicians\, pedagogues and exceptionally gifted international students\, normally held in the cultural hub of the southern Berkshires.  The intimate scale and highest level of talent make possible an invigorating ten days of discovery\, exploration\, bonding and growth.  The festival has an all-inclusive atmosphere\, fostering camaraderie and cross-cultural exchange and understanding. The faculty is similarly international.  In past summers\, in addition to the classical canon\, the music has focused on traditions ranging from Latin American tango to Japanese ceremonial drums to the heritage of Jazz and improvisation in addition to the classical canon. Central to the festival’s mission are performance opportunities for young artists on the cusp of their careers.  Faculty and guest performers have included the most respected classical musicians and teachers of our time.
