Performance by an Astonishing Young Artist, Bound for a World-Wide Career!

Thirteen-year-old Hayden Idson, an eighth grader at the Park School in Brookline, began his cello studies at the age of four and is currently a student of Ronald Lowry, Paul Katz and Yehuda Hanani. He appeared as a soloist for the first time at age ten with the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra, playing the Elgar Cello Concerto and performed Tchaikovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso with both the Sharon Community Chamber Orchestra and the Brockton Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 he was the winner of the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition and Waltham Philharmonic Concerto Competition, performing Saint- Saen’s Cello Concerto with both. As the 2019 winner of the Concord Orchestra’s Ehlers Young Artist Competition, he just played Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the orchestra. In his free time, Hayden enjoys composing music.

Celebrate the Salon in the Gilded Age elegance of the Lenox Club, a venerable Berkshire presence since 1864! The scintillating atmosphere of the 19th century institution that helped promote artists, painters and musicians as the intelligentsia gathered to exchange ideas, enhanced by gaiety and ambience. Savor a superb lunch and support Close Encounters With Music. La vie est belle!!!
