As you calculate your advertising schedule for the coming season, please consider taking a space in the Close Encounters With Music 2008-2009 playbill. 

Close Encounters With Music is a much cherished part of our area’s rich cultural fabric, presenting chamber music programs of Lincoln Center quality in the beautifully-restored Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Berkshire Living Magazine has called us the “must-see” concert series, “engaging mind and heart.” As those of you who have advertised with us in the past know, our playbill reaches thousands of sophisticated Berkshirites, weekenders, and vacationers throughout the year. We distribute playbills to each person who comes to a concert, a conversation, or a patron’s event. We have twelve events this season, and a total audience of approximately 4000. The playbill is a 7” X 10” glossy 48 page black and white book, with a two color cover. It includes bios of our musicians and speakers, and illuminating articles relating to our programming, written by distinguished critics and scholars. This is a unique chance for your ad to appear in this magazine-style program alongside glittering Close Encounters performers like Richard Chamberlain, Dawn Upshaw, Jane Alexander, Eugenia Zukerman, and in the company of the most prestigious area businesses. 

At this time of year we like to offer a special value to our advertisers who sign up early. By purchasing a quarter page ad or larger you will receive two tickets to the festive May 24, 2008 concert Gypsy! Our early advertisers also receive two concert tickets to use in the 2008-09 season, another $70.00 value. Most concerts have a complementary reception afterwards for the audience to meet the artists, with appetizers and wine from local specialty shops, restaurants, and caterers. Your camera-ready artwork does not have to be e-mailed to us until September!
